Chief is 83 this year and he must take medicine to live.  Like most of our old folk Chief's income is not nearly enough to live on, provide food, heat and medicine.  The brothers and sisters of GRMC Avery have decided to extend our help to one of our own.  $5 of the $10 donation offered at the entrance gate at the Top Of The World Party will go towards helping buy Chief's medicine.  There will also be a donation jar sitting on the bar.  If you would like to make a private donation Chief's address is...

In conjunction with GRMC Avery's Anniversary Party there will be a Cancer Benefit for Dopey.  Dopey has over 10 years with the Ghost Riders and was a charter member of the new Avery and VP until he had to step down because of  his battle with cancer.  GRMC Avery is going to donate $5 for every person that attends our Anniversary Party to help with his medical expenses.

Ghost Riders Avery 2014 Events

The Top Of The World Party is only days away.  Hope you are one of the lucky ones in attendance.  Plenty of free camping and fun.  Call Dude for directions or info at 828-964-0755.
In conjunction with this years Top Of The Word Party is Chief's Medicine Benefit.  Unfortunately Chief has gotten to the age (82) to where he has to take medicine to live.  Without it he dies.  That simple.  What is not simple is paying for the medicine needed to live.  Like most of our old folk Chief's income is not nearly enough to live on, provide food, heat & medicine.  The brothers and sisters of GRMC Avery have decided to extend our help to one of our own.  $5 of the $10 donation offered at the entrance gate of the Top Of The World Party will go towards buying Chief's Medicine.  There will also be a donation jar sitting on the bar.

You have two opportunities in 2014 to visit and party with the Ghost Riders MC of Avery County. Come to the High Country and enjoy this majestic area of scenic mountaintops, quaint small town villages, and raging rivers.  Come visit GRMC Avery on Friday (or before if you desire) and stay through Sunday (or longer if you like).  Visit the famous Grandfather Mountain, ride the Blue Ridge Parkway, see the Lynn Cove Viaduct, swim at the Elk River Falls and Linville Falls, climb Mount Mitchell and Roan Mountain.  In the summer water ski the Watuga Lake and in the winter snow ski Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain.


The first event at GRMC Avery in 2014 will be The Top Of The World Party June 6-8 at the clubhouse located at 1515 Elk River Road in Elk Park, NC 28622.  2013's event featured 13 different clubs from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.  Get your mom & pop's/family motorcycle club to attend and help GRMC Avery beat that record in 2014.


The second event at GRMC Avery in 2014 will be the GRMC Avery Anniversary Party August 15-17 which will also be located at 1515 Elk River Road in Elk Park, NC 28622.  Come party with the mountain district of the Ghost Riders Nation and other clubs from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. This 2013 event also attracted 13 different clubs and over 125 attendees.  Both events provide free primitive camping and camper spots with no hook-ups.


Fishermen will find themselves in high heaven in the High Country, with large rivers and small streams providing challenging, exciting and abundant fishing.  Our county rivers are well stocked with wild trout, and musky and smallmouth bass being the most prevalent fish.  Keep up-to-date on NC catch and release regulations, and purchase your fishing license before you visit us at www.ncwildlife.org. 


Trails of varying strenuousness wrap around the mountains, hills, forests and rivers, allowing hikers of all levels of experience and fitness to easily navigate their way.  For Avery County and surrounding area trail maps and a breakdown of the difficulty and length of dozens of trails, visit www.highcountryhiking.com.  To benefit from the experience of an expert, try a guided hike from one of many companies offering half-, full- or multi-day treks.

If there is any Christian MC Clubs located around Avery Co., NC that would like the field for Sunday Services it is yours for the asking.  The field is free of charge starting at 8 AM Sunday until ???  There is electricity & stage for a band if you have one available.
